Ohio Mugshot Payment Law
Ohio Revised Code 2927.22 is narrower than a general mugshot-publication ban. The booking-photo payment statute prohibits a covered criminal-record-information publisher or disseminator from negligently soliciting or accepting payment from the photographed person to remove, correct, modify, or refrain from publishing the record. It provides criminal and civil consequences. The law does not order every sheriff to publish photographs, and it does not establish that every image is public in every setting.
This narrow Ohio rule is Research Angle P. It targets the pay-to-remove transaction. It should not be described as a guaranteed removal path, a broad right to delete all web copies, or proof that a commercial publisher's version is current.
